Kimi: The Little Detective

Most cats leave hair on your clothes. Kimi apparently checks whose hair is already there.

Her owner came to me with an unusual reason for ordering a custom cat portrait. Kimi had found another woman’s hair on her boyfriend, helping expose his cheating. A little detective who deserved some recognition.

The reference photo already had the perfect expression: unimpressed, suspicious, and absolutely done with everyone.

I kept her seated pose and tortoiseshell markings, then gave her narrowed green eyes and a knowing little smile. A gold MVP medal felt like the right reward for her detective work. And by her paws, I added the crucial evidence: a few strands of hair.

Her owner loved those details. The medal and the hair made her laugh, and she said she already felt much better.

Case closed. Boyfriend dismissed.

Kimi’s detective work was a hit on TikTok, too, with 136,000 views and 25,000 likes. That MVP medal was well deserved.
